Makers Night: Fused Glass Workshop

Detroit Fleat presents Makers Night – a monthly workshop hosted by a local artist.

This month’s Makers Night: Fused Glass Workshop

Join us for a fun experience of working with fused glass! In this workshop you will be introduced to the art of fused glass and cutting techniques to create your own bowl, plate or vase.

Students will be instructed on how to arrange and stack colorful pieces of glass on a base of compatible glass to create their own unique design.
Pieces will then taken to be fused in a kiln and returned to Fleat for pickup two weeks after the class.
No experience necessary! All tools and materials will be provided.

Workshop presented by Helen Agius-Andreae of Fired and Fused.
Helen has been working with and teaching fused glass for over 16 years. She owned/operated a successful paint-your-own-pottery and glass fusing studio which she sold in 2021 and is now focusing on fused glass operating a mobile fused glass studio. She finds great joy in teaching others how to create their own fused glass creations and helping to inspire them to pursue their artistic dreams.

Class Information:

Space is limited to 24 participants.
Participants between under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult who has also purchased a ticket for themselves.
No special dress is required.
All necessary supplies will be provided for our guests, including safety glasses, cutting tools and gloves for use during class.

*PLEASE NOTE*
Participants will need to return to Detroit Fleat approximately two weeks after the workshop to pick up their projects. Pickup dates will be given at the workshop.

Cancellation policy:

A cancellation request must be submitted before 48 hours, in order to receive a full refund. There will be no refunds if cancellation is less than 48 hours prior to class.

Late Arrival Policy:

Out of respect for the instructor and other participants, we ask that you arrive promptly and are ready to start class at 6pm. Late arrivals will have to catch up on their own.
