Papelon Arepa Bar – Venezuelan Arepas

A huge welcome to Papelon Arepa Bar. A new addition to our lineup as a Detroit Fleat Guest Food Truck!

From the owners:

“We are Mariale & Fernando from Venezuela and owners of Papelon Arepa Bar. The First Arepa Food Truck in Metro Detroit Area. Fernando is the Master Chef and Mariale is the brains and professional food taster.

Running away from the economical and political crisis of Venezuela, we moved to Detroit to start all over. It has not been easy leaving our family behind and professional lives (Fernando is a CPA in Venezuela and Mariale is an Industrial Engineer). But so far it has been the best decision since we can support our family from the distance.

Papelon Arepa Bar started at a small outdoor market in Southwest Detroit (Mexican Town) back in 2019. Just a table, some arepas and lots of dreams! Since the Venezuelan community is small in Michigan, we wanted to see the acceptance from other cultures to our food. So far, so good!.

After a few months we built a small trailer and started serving private events. Even though 2020 was a difficult year, the support from our customers made us believe in our business. We took a step forward and built a new Truck.

Meanwhile, we now offer Catering Services, Chef at Home Services and Food Truck Rentals.

Detroit has been a blessing to our lives and for sure a total change. It is our new home.”

Papelon is highly anticipated here as a Detroit Fleat Guest Food Truck!

Their commitment to scratch-made, high quality food and superior customer service results in Papelon being a perfect addition to our lineup. Above all, we are excited to have them as a Detroit Fleat Guest Food Truck.

To sum up, we can’t wait to get our hands on some authentic Venezuelan food made with love!
